Argyles, Argyles, Argyles . . .

. . . is there such a thing as too many argyles? The answer is no, no there is not! There is just something about argyles that make my toes happy! So, needless to say, I was quite excited to open a surprise package from Bubba to find over-the-knee argyles!!! They have a splash of red, which makes them different than all of my other pairs of diamond patterned socks! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now the problem I have is trying not to wear them once a week because as soon as they are washed and back in the drawer, I am wanting to slip into them for a happy day spent in argyles garb!

The Last PG Photo . . .

I would like to get some interaction back on this blog, but I need you all to play along. What is the last PG photo you took on your phone? Yes, I am specifically asking for PG so that everyone will enjoy this thread… or, at least, that is my hope.

Of course, mine is of Abigail.

Abby loves riding with her head out the window…

Shocking . . .

I am just as gobsmacked as you are about to be, but I am going to buy some holiday decorations for the tree this year.

Traditions and Memories

With Thanksgiving behind us, and the Christmas season still to come, I would like to know what is the one tradition that you enjoy because it is full of memories.

For me, it would be driving around to look at all of the lights. When I was a kid Dad would take us to Johnson City to see the courthouse lit up. That was 35 years ago, and today the entire town is lit up into a winter wonderland. It used to be a small town event, with just the locals enjoying in awe, and now people from all over make that drive to see full trees lit up from roots to top of branches, thanks to the electric company. Although, I am not a fan of the crowds, it is still an amazing sight to see. I still find myself enjoying a drive about town to look at holiday lights, even in my new surroundings. It makes me smile to remember what it was like as a kid.

#SmallBusinessSaturday

Reasons why joining my site is a great idea:

1.) I update weekly, sometimes several times a week. (mostly videos)

2.) I host several member’s shows each week, no matter what, there are never cancelled shows.

3.) I am approachable, available and very interactive.

4.) My site is 100% me – pictures, videos, emails, tweets, personality. I am who I am on screen and behind the computer. There is no one other than myself that you will talk to if you send me a message.

5.) You receive more than most sites give you and they charge double the price.

6.) You gain access to all of the VNALive network – daily LIVE cam shows by big names and amateurs alike!

7.) I am a small business.

Thanksgiving is For Sharing

What is the one thing that you did over the Thanksgiving week that you enjoyed? Now, I do realize this excludes those who are not from the US, so let’s extend that to everyone. What did you do this past week that made you smile?

For me, it is simple. I woke up with MtnMan and got a lot of love from Abby, before going to his sisters house for an amazing dinner with family. It was low key, quiet and perfect.

What I am Thankful For

My absolute favorite day of the year is Thanksgiving. It is the love of family that taught me to be thankful, but also appreciative of what the day truly means. It is the one day that people slow down and make time to reconnect; it is the day that people come together, no matter their social standing, and enjoy each others company over a feast. It is the day that families, whether biological, or chosen, have no other commitment but to each other. It is beautiful.

I am thankful to have you guys in my life, and to know that you we have created an amazing community online, through my site. Without the site as a platform, none of us would have met, and for that, I am very thankful for. I am also grateful for those of you that joined many years ago and never left, but also for those who have joined here and there, coming and going as you do, and those who joined once (and done), because without you all I would not still be online. I should also extend my gratitude to those of you that have just recently joined, because joins like yours is what keeps the site fresh.

I am thankful for so much more in my #newbeginnings, but because I feel that I have over shared too often, I will spare you guys more on that. But, that is not to say I am not going to reiterate that I am lucky to have friends who stayed true and who helped me through the stressful days of the last couple of years. I do believe that you choose who your family is, and it can be a positive choice.

On a much simpler note, I am most thankful to be joining MtnMan75 and his family for a beautiful dinner.

A Day to Recognize as Special.

Today is Outlaw’s birthday, and this is one day that should be recognized and celebrated. He is my longest running member, and that, in itself, is pretty fucking amazing, but besides that, he is a stand up gentleman who has proven to be a good friend and a loyal one at that. Longest running member, and loyal friend do go hand in hand. He has jumped three networks with me in the 12+ years that I have been online, and that does not include all of the many cam sites that I have tried over that time period, all of which he has joined with me.

Outlaw, I do wish you nothing but the happiest of days, and I, although, I encourage this big purge of your last 20 years, I want you to take a break today. Get out. Celebrate you. Have a cigar. Enjoy friends. Do something for you.

I am so excited for your #newbeginnings. It is something you need and your days will be full of what you are passionate about. This change, although, terrifying and uncertain, is good, positive change for you. I am happy that you have the strength to make such a leap.

Happy, happy birthday to you!

Current Keeps the Water From Becoming Stagnant

Alright, so I have had a hard time finding motivation, as of lately, and some of that is the fact that I am bored with the same days always spent online. That is not to say that I am tired of being on cam. That just simply is not the case. However, change is good and it keeps life interesting and hopefully will keep it from being boring.

Anyway, to the point. I have decided to take Sundays off for the next couple of months, which means I will be online for Saturdays. This will be a broken day because I will be online for a few hours in the orning/early afternoon and then do my grocery shopping, getting back online after I am home. So, at least a 2 hour break..

So, I hope that I will continue to see some of you over the weekend, despite the change in day that I am online.

Armistice Day

World War I ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. Armistice: a truce to end hostilities. At the urging of veteran organizations, it was later named Veterans Day, and is also known as Remembrance day, recognized annually.

This year the Veterans parade was held Saturday, Veterans day Sunday (11/11) and Monday being the observed day for the Government agencies to have another 3-day weekend.

Today is a day to celebrate all US veterans, whereas, Memorial day is to remember those that died in service to our country.

I would like to thank those who chose to serve our country, in all capacities. It was a brave choice to choose military service, and it is a selfless act of continuing to protect our country, past, present and future. Whether you agree with war, or not, please take today to thank all veterans for their choice to serve. It is not their choice to go to war, but their honor to follow orders, and to do so with respect, regardless of their own opinions.

Thank you, one and all.

A Change in My Plans

I just realized that tomorrow starts another week long contest on Streamate. Yes, another one, only 2 weeks after the last one. This might explain some of the glitches, but let’s face it, it is a constant glitch with back-to-back contests.

At any rate, I have decided to take tomorrow offline, but I will be back online Monday and, it will be a long couple of days online, so catch me if you so desire.

Falling Short . . .

Good lord! I have a file on my hard drive that is labeled “gifts”. It is full of pictures of thoughtful gifts that have been sent to me, and once I post a “thank you” thread, I delete the picture. That is how I never forget to show my gratitude in a blog post. That is after I have sent a personal note to the gifter; it is just one extra step that I take to show how much I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness you all show me on a daily basis. Much like my oversight on birthday’s for the last year, the gift posts have also gone by the wayside. The file box is full of pictures that never made it to my blog. That is, never made it to the blog in an acceptable time. So, over the next week I will be posting long over due thanks, and it might seem ridiculous, but it really is not. I still feel that it is due, and I cannot just delete each note because I carelessly took too long to recognize it… so… that is that.

Today is HotnFriskie Day!

Today is your day HotnFriskie, so please take time to enjoy and celebrate you! I am sorry that you have been in a dizzy state of mind (lol), but it has been great to see you the last couple of weeks on VNA and I do hope to see you for the next couple, if you feel so inclined to join us. I know everyone enjoys seeing your brain fry on the wall behind you, and, well, you make me laugh.

I love, love, love that your parents are throwing a party for you on Saturday- that is so heartwarming and full of love!

Step Away From the News

It could definitely be said that there is a huge dividing line between parties that have spread so much hate throughout the people. And, I say this as impartial as possible. It is happening from all sides. The Liberals, Democrats, Republicans and everything in between. It is disgusting. This is a rare post for me because I have kept politics out of my cam room, blog and especially my site. And, to be honest, this is not as much an opinion post, as it is a solid suggestion.

No matter how you voted,  or what you think about your fellow voters, turn it off today. With today’s news organizations blasting elections for years before we go to the polls, we are all on overload. Just walk away for the day. I see so many people on Social Media consumed with other people and their opinions, or arguing over a topic that will never be resolved online. Turn it off. No matter how the election goes today, you will survive. It is true, times might be tough for a bit, but you will ultimately survive. Be smart in your every day. Take care of you and your family. Tomorrow will be another day. I have never seen so much contempt in the human race. And, please do not use this thread as an outlet to spew more hate and opinions. It is not just with the current president, but it was going on for the last two.. That is over a decade of hate that has been simmering. Do not add to it, and just stop. You will be mentally healthier for it.

Now, with that said, get off the computer with your speeches and go lobby, or join congress. It is never too late to do this, and you will make a difference in person, more so than you ever will consuming your everyday on Social Media and in the confines of your home…

What I am suggesting is that maybe you allow yourself a break today, and tomorrow you won’t wake up near as upset and angry.

Happy First Day of My Favorite Month!

It is November and boy, has this year gone fast. There were days when I thought felt like I was in limbo and could not see the forest through the trees, but here we are, beginning the eleventh month of 2018. This is my absolute favorite month, and I am so looking forward to the holiday’s this year, for the first time in many, many years. I already know that this news of me embracing the holiday’s might come as a shock to many, and even a disappointment to a few. I admit, I made a great grinch and I wore that hat with obnoxious pride. I cannot deny it though, I no longer have a sense of hatred for the holiday’s. #newbeginnings

So, back to November and how it is my favorite month of the year, and it has been since I was a child. It is the changing of the seasons, the days getting shorter, the temperatures colder, and the leaves changing color, the smells of cinnamon and pine cones in most homes.. it is just a good, warm feeling. But, more than that, this is the month of my favorite day of the year! This suprasses any other celebration, birthday or holiday. It is Thanksgiving and before I get lost in my excitement, let me just say that I really hate that it is not a worldwide holiday. It is a family day. Whether that be with blood relatives, or friends that you have picked up along the way and consider them to be family. This is a day when everyone slows down and enjoys reconnecting with those that are dear. It is the one day that no one cares about what car is driven, the sum of your bank account, the stress of schoolwork or responsibilities of adulthood. It is a day that should be cherished and appreciated.

So, if you are in the states and you have never thought of Thanksgiving to be all that special, you have three weeks to make a change. If you normally gather with your family, but it is not a happy time, or even a joyous occasion, then make other plans. You know, “friendsgiving” is a thing, and there is nothing wrong with doing something on this one day that is for you. It is a day that you should take to be around those you care about, and that make you feel good about yourself… and, if you don’t want to do that, there are other options. Yes, there are! No family. No friends. No problem! There are so many charitable organizations that do a lot for shut-ins and those that have had a tragic year. I am not talking about soup kitchens, but most communities (if not all) have a program to help those in need. The people that had a lot of loss in 2018, or the elderly that live alone, with no family left or anyone to check on them. Some towns even have a Thanksgiving dinner that they offer to the community and only ask for donations in return. You could help serve food, or clean up, or meet someone new that you never would have any other way.

Before I close, let me share a little bit of my childhood… kind of.

Thanksgiving was always a day that was happy in my house. I had a very loving home, but we had a lot of loss. People. Not possessions.

Mom and Granny would spend all day in the kitchen, after a week of planning. This was a good, heartfelt tradition passed on, and maintained, no matter how sad they were. That changed when I was around 12, but only because they had friends who adored my parents and had a much larger family and it was a bigger gathering. So, we started making a drive north of Austin, which was an hour outside of town back then. They would turn the garage into a game area for the dads and kids, while the rest would help in the kitchen where needed. When I was about 16 Dad and I decided to help my godparents at the community center. They owned the only restaurant in town and decided to start offering free meals. It did not matter how rich, or how poor, everyone was welcomed. They also had a team of people who offered to deliver meals to shut-ins and those who had no way of making it to the community center. It was fulfilling and I have great memories of the town coming together on one day to be happy, and reconnect.

If you are still reading, thank you. I do hope that you will find a way to enjoy this day, and make a change if needed..

I Was Olive Oyl

My Halloween costume was Olive Oyl. I was always Olive Oyl. The same plastic apron costume, with the creepy mask. I am sure that I have shared this with you before, but having been online for 12 years and being an active blogger for most of it, I cannot remember.

I can’t remember what my twin brother was, but he was probably Popeye, and that is why I was Olive Oyl. I don’t recall ever being a huge fan, although, I did laugh while watching the cartoon shows. In fact, knowing my parents, we did not choose the costumes, it was whatever Mom found at the store the first year and since they made sure we never “horsed” around while wearing them, they were in pristine shape every single year.

Do you remember what you were, and did you change costumes each year?

What is New in Your World?

It has been awhile since I have checked in with those of you that read my blog, so I thought today would be a perfect time to change that.

If you follow my tweets, read my blog and join me on cam, you probably know what is going on in my world, but, in the event that you are not up to date on the happenings in my world, allow me to share more:

Abby is 4 months old and I am positive that the terrible two’s have arrived and yes, they are real. She is getting taller, so she is lanky and still just as clumsy as ever. She has a vet appointment Tuesday for another round of puppy shots, but don’t worry, everyone that has to pet her for LOVE will give her a “cookie” or three. MtnMan’s strawberry patch that was overgrown has been tamed and destroyed. Thank you, Abby. I think he is going to remove all of that and replace it with Astro Turf.

I am only on cam today and tomorrow, and then will be offline through Sunday. We are going into the mountains and will be out of cell range most of the time, however, I will stay connected as much as possible. If you are a member, my site will continue to have Friday updates, and if you follow me on SnapChat, you will be able to join me in the mountains for some spur of the moment snaps..

We are just a few days away from my favorite month, and then only a couple weeks before my absolute favorite day. Thanksgiving.

That is all that comes to mind, for me, so now it is your turn. What is new in your world? I would love for you to respond with anything, even if you feel like it is minor.. like going to the local park for an evening stroll one last time before it turns cold…

Schedule Reminder

This week I will be offline Wednesday – Sunday, but that does not mean we won’t do the weekly membership shows.

Monday VNA at 11p EST

Monday night 11p EST 1 hour (this gives you access to the entire VNA LIVE network)

Tuesday on SM at 11p EST (this is the weekly show banner that can be found on the club page)

The Upcoming Week’s

It has been awhile since I have thrown a wrench in our schedules, so I figure it is time to do just that. This week I will be online Wednesday, not Thursday. That is not much of a change, but next week I won’t be online from Wednesday through Sunday. Mtnman is taking me into the mountains for a few days. We may pitch a tent, it depends on the weather and how cold the temps drop at night. The areas that we will be, will have very limited cell reception so I won’t be able to stay connected constantly, but I will check in when I am able to.

It has been awhile since we have been able to take a few days and get away, with the exception of the several trips to Texas over the last 18 months but those were anything but a vacation.

Member’s Show Tonight

I will be doing a 1 hour LIVE cam show tonight at 11p EST. This will be a full week of member shows, so if you are not able to make it tonight, you’ve still a chance to join me on Thursday. Be sure to click on the banner for the member’s cam show — >

New Cam Site

Alright, I am trying a few new cam sites over the next couple weeks. The site that I am trying today is ChatTimeNow

If you would like to check it out, please use my referral link, it would be very much appreciated. I will probably test the waters during the day, more so than at night. However, that is subject to change, so please check my Tweets out to find me…

Recipe Exchange

Would anyone be interested in a recipe exchange? It is kind of a take on cookie exchange, but with it not being the holiday’s yet, I thought sharing recipe’s would be more enticing and might gain some interest.

Yay or Nay?

Are You a Spring?

I absolutely love the fall. The cooler temps, the changing of the seasons, the colors. It is just breathtaking, and beautiful. The blazing hot days of August are behind us, the chilly nights and cold mornings are in front of us. I have always loved the fall. It is when the leaves start to fall and the wind picks up, leaving the blooms blown about, with a dusty layer over them. It is a sign of changing times.

What is your favorite season?

Meet Abby

Meet Abigail #abbythegolden

She is sweet, adorable and so loving, but she also has a spurt of puppy energy from time to time that makes me think she is full of piss and vinegar. I love her.

You All

Y’all

You all; plural, more than one.

How are y’all doing?

How are you doing?

“How are y’all doing” when you enter my cam room because you think it is cute, but there is only one of me, makes you look ridiculous. So, stop. Just stop! STOP!
